When God Keeps You Instead of Delivering You

When God Keeps You Instead of Delivering You

WELCOME:

This is Let’s Talk God ’N Christ, and today I’m talking to a people who may have survived what was meant to destroy them.

“Not every miracle looks like escape. Sometimes the miracle is endurance. Sometimes God doesn’t take you out of the fire, He keeps you inside it. And it is still deliverance. It is just not the kind we imagined, but necessary.”

LET’S PRAY:
Lord, thank You Lord the privilege of Your presence. Thank You for everyone  that might be going through difficult circumstances. We ask for grace to trust You, trust Your willingness to help and trust Your power to see us through.
Thank You our Father. In Jesus mighty name.
Amen.

OUR SCRIPTURE READING IS FROM

Psalm 121:7 — ‘The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.’

THE PRESERVATION OF THE SOUL

“When David said this, he wasn’t writing from a palace. He wrote as a man who had seen trouble.

Chased by Saul, betrayed by friends, humbled by his own failures. Yet he said: ‘God will preserve me.’

The Hebrew word for ‘preserve’ here means: to guard, to keep, to maintain, to watch over.

It is the word used for a shepherd who refuses to sleep because wolves roam at night.”

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO US?

“We often pray for removal:

‘Lord, take me out of this.’

But God sometimes answers differently:

‘I’ll keep you inside it, and I won’t let it consume you.’
That is the miracle of preservation.”

MY TESTIMONY

“This was my own story. I spent two straight years on a hospital bed. My 60th and 61st birthdays passed with machines by attached to my side. Doctors tried,  but doctors have their limits.

"Experts" wrote certain expectations. But God, God kept me. And I realized later that the miracle wasn’t only healing. The miracle was being kept. Kept from despair, kept from bitterness, kept from hopelessness, kept from spiritual collapse.

Sometimes the greater miracle is not the body recovered, but the soul preserved.”

TO YOU LISTENING OR READING THIS

“You may not be battling illness, but maybe you are in a financial valley, a marital storm, a season of waiting, a night season of the soul.

And you wonder why God hasn’t taken you out. But hear this: the miracle may already be happening, you are being kept.”

“Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were not kept from the fire they were kept inside the fire. Daniel was not kept from the lions’ den, he was kept in the lions’ den.

Paul was not kept from storms at sea, he was kept on the sea. Jesus did not pray for the disciples to be removed from the world,  He prayed that they would be kept from the evil one (John 17:15).”

You may not have come out without scars, but you came out alive. And sometimes the "survival itself is the testimony.”

PAUSE AND ASK YOURSELF:

‘Where has God kept me without me thanking Him?’

‘Where am I asking for escape instead of grace?’

‘What survived in me that should have died?’

LET'S PRAY

“Father, for every listener  who may be walking through a furnace, keep them. Preserve their soul from bitterness, disappointment, abandonment, and unbelief.

Let hope not die in them. Let faith not collapse. Let their story become a testimony of Your keeping power. In Jesus Name, Amen.”
