Angels & Sons
WELCOME TO LET’S TALK GOD ‘N’ CHRIST
where we talk about real life, real faith, and how God’s truth can completely transform your world.
I'm your host, Gabriella Osamor, and I'm so excited to stepping into a fiery revelation: God makes His angels spirits and His ministers a flame of fire (Hebrews 1:7).
Let’s pray:
Our Father and God, thank You once again for a moment in Your presence, learning and becoming transformed. Grant us grace to receive Your message with understanding. May we always impact lives by reflecting Christ daily In Jesus name.
Amen.
Angels—God’s Fiery Ministers in Heaven
The Bible in Hebrews 1:7, quoting Psalm 104:4, says:
“He makes His angels spirits, and His ministers a flame of fire.”
Here, the word minister means servant, attendant—one who carries out God’s orders. The angels are described as:
Spirits – invisible, swift, and unhindered like the wind.
Flames of fire – powerful, purifying, and unstoppable when sent on God’s mission.
Imagine this—when God wants something done, His angels move with the speed of wind and the intensity of fire. They are not casual servants; they are fiery servants.
But here’s the bigger picture: Hebrews 1 is not exalting angels above measure—it’s showing that while angels are mighty flames of service, Jesus is far greater. Angels are servants, but Jesus is the Son, seated at the right hand of the Father, worshiped by angels themselves.
Believers—God’s Fiery Ministers on Earth
Now, here’s where it gets personal. The same imagery of fire is applied to human ministers of God—that means you and me.
Jeremiah 20:9 – Jeremiah said, "His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones."
A true minister burns with God’s Word until they release it.
John 5:35 – Jesus called John the Baptist “a burning and shining light.”
His life and message lit up his generation.
Acts 2:3-4 – On the day of Pentecost, tongues of fire rested on each believer, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit.
From that moment, the church was ignited—ordinary men and women became fiery ministers to the nations.
Romans 12:11 – Paul charges us to be “fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.” The word fervent literally means “boiling hot, burning over.”
Do you see the parallel? Just as angels are fiery ministers in heaven, believers are called to be fiery ministers on earth.
What This Means for Us
So, what does it mean to be a fiery minister today?
- Passion for God – Your fire is your love for Him. A cold Christian can’t shine in a dark world.
- Purity of Life – Fire purifies. As God’s minister, your life must reflect His holiness.
- Power in Service – Fire consumes. We are to push back the works of darkness with Spirit-filled boldness.
- Light for Others – Fire illuminates. Through your words and life, others should see the light of Christ.
Beloved, you’re not called to serve God in your own strength. The same Spirit who set the disciples ablaze is alive in you today. When God’s Spirit fills you, you don’t just serve—you burn. You become a living flame of His glory.
Let’s Close With These Thoughts:
Am I burning with God’s fire, or has my flame grown dim?
Do I carry the Word of God like Jeremiah—shut up in my bones, impossible to keep quiet?
Do others see the fire of Christ shining through me like John the Baptist?
Suggested Steps:
- Fan your flame daily – through prayer, worship, and the Word (2 Timothy 1:6).
- Guard your flame – keep away from sin, negativity, and anything that quenches the Spirit.
- Spread your flame – share your faith, encourage others, and let your life ignite hope wherever you go.
Closing Word
Angels burn in heaven; believers burn on earth. Together, we reflect the consuming passion of our God, who Himself is called “a consuming fire” (Hebrews 12:29).
So today, let this be your declaration:
“I am God’s minister, and I burn with His fire. I will not grow cold, I will not hide my flame. I am ignited by the Spirit of God to shine for Christ in my world.”
Thank you for joining me on Let’s Talk God ’n’ Christ. Until next time, stay burning for Jesus.
Let’s pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for making me realise I could be a fiery carrier of Your Word. Please grant me the grace, boldness and strength to impact others with this burning desire and zeal to serve You all the days of my life. In faith, I receive and I thank the Lord in Jesus' most mighty name.
Amen.
