In particular: The Prayer of Faith – Part 1:
How to Believe Like God Does

Welcome!
Whether you're driving, chilling at home, or sipping some coffee on your porch, I'm so glad you're here today. We’re kicking off a new series on a game-changing topic: The Prayer of Faith.

Let's Pray
Heavenly Father we are here expectant, excited to learn how to pray in ways that please You and changes our lives. Help us to be doers of Your Word in Jesus Name.
Amen!

Now, I know—prayer can sometimes feel like a mystery, right? Like, “God, are You hearing me?” or “Did I do it right?” But Jesus actually taught us how to pray in a way that works. Let’s break it down in plain language.

Faith:
Our Life Source.

First things first—as followers of Jesus, we live by faith. Faith isn’t just a spiritual add-on, like some kind of divine accessory. It’s the whole deal. It’s how we connect to God, how we receive salvation, and how we walk this salvation walk.

Romans 1:17 says, “The just shall live by faith.” Not “visit faith on Sundays.” LIVE by it. Every day.
So guess what? Prayer and faith are BFFs. You can’t really pray effectively without faith, and you can’t live victoriously without it either.

What does Jesus say about the Prayer of Faith?

Let’s zoom in on Mark 11:22-24, where Jesus drops a bombshell:

“Have faith in God. Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”

Wait, did He just say we can talk to mountains? Like, actual problems, challenges, or stuck places in our lives? YES.

Here’s the catch though: You’ve got to believe it when you say it. Not after you see it. Not after things change. Believe it the moment you pray. That’s the God-kind of faith.

The NOW FAITH.

What Does It Really Mean to "Believe"?
Now, let’s clear this up: believing isn’t just agreeing with an idea. The devil “believes” there’s a God, too—but he’s not exactly walking in faith, is he? Please read (James 2:19).

Biblical believing means:

  1. You’re acting like it’s already done.
  2. You’re talking like it’s already done.
  3. You’re living like it’s already done.

Faith believes, then speaks, and keeps speaking—even when nothing looks different yet.

Let’s talk Principles

1: Be Specific
Jesus didn’t say, “Talk to some mountain.” He said, “Talk to this mountain.” That’s a clue!
You’ve got to be specific.

Want healing? Name the issue.
Praying for growth in your church? Know your current number and your target.

Asking for financial increase? Write down what you make now—and what you’re believing for.

Why does this matter? Because vague prayers produce vague results. Specific faith speaks specific outcomes.

2: See the Unseen
Faith has a vision—even when your eyes don’t.
2 Corinthians 4:18 says, “We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen...” That’s not wishful thinking. That’s faith seeing what God sees.

Think of Abraham—when God promised him countless descendants, what did He do? He gave him a picture: “Look at the stars.” God taught him to visualize the promise.

Or remember Dr. David Yonggi Cho’s hilarious (but powerful!) story? He told his congregation he had a chair, table, and bicycle... even though they couldn’t see it. Why? Because he saw it inside himself. He was pregnant with it.

Faith sees it before it shows up.

What do you do after you pray?
How do you handle doubt?
Why are your words so powerful?

Let’s pause here for a moment because In part two, we’re going to get even more practical:

But for now, here’s your takeaway: Start believing before you see it. Speak with confidence. Get specific. Visualize it. You’re not crazy—you’re walking in the faith of God.

PLEASE STAY TUNED FOR PART 2:
You’re gonna love it. And hey, if today’s message blessed you—share it with a friend or your group chat. Let’s stir up some faith together!

LET’S KEEP TALKING GOD ‘N’ Christ
Heavenly Father, thank You for teaching us how to pray. Help us to build a prayer life that pleases You and transforms our lives. Thank You Heavenly Father in Jesus precious name.
Amen!
