Encouragement: God's not done with you. You still bear fruit - and it's needed.
Dearly beloved saints, let's pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for this season of our lives. Thank You for showering us with your love, grace and blessings through the years. Help us to know that we're still relevant and can contribute meaningfully to spreading Your word.
Thank You for the strength in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
Let me begin by saying this: You are not forgotten. You are not finished. You are not irrelevant. In the eyes of our Heavenly Father, you are as precious now - maybe even more so - as you were in your youth. And He still delights in you bearing fruit… yes, even now.
Let's open our hearts today to a simple, beautiful truth:
You can be fruitful in every season of life - including this one.
Psalm 92:12-14 tells us:
"The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree…
They shall still bear fruit in old age;
they shall be full of sap and very green,
to declare that the LORD is upright…"
Isn't that just breathtaking? In God's Kingdom, there is no expiry date on purpose. You don't age out of usefulness in His vineyard. No! You may walk a bit slower now, but your prayers can travel farther than your feet ever could. Your words carry wisdom that only time can teach. And your quiet acts of love and encouragement carry more weight than you realise.
Let's be honest, though. There are days when the energy just isn't there. When your body groans a little louder than your spirit. When you want to serve, but lifting a spoon feels like lifting a mountain.
Dear one, don't feel guilty about that. God sees your heart, not just your hands. Purpose is not limited to physical strength - it flows from a willing heart and a surrendered spirit.
You don't have to preach from a pulpit to impact lives. Sometimes, the simple act of listening to a younger one pour out their heart is a ministry in itself. A handwritten note, a gentle phone call, or even a whispered prayer in your quiet time can shake the heavens.
Do you know how valuable your prayers are? In this noisy, restless world, your prayers are powerful because they are seasoned with faith, perseverance, and experience. You've seen God heal. You've seen Him carry you. Your faith has roots. That's not ordinary - that's rare treasure.
What Does Fruitfulness Look Like Now?
Let's look at a few ways you can still bear beautiful fruit, even when energy is low:
1. Encouragement
You've lived. You've walked through storms and sunshine. There's someone younger who needs to hear what you've learned. Share your story - your real story. Your scars might be someone else's survival guide.
2. Intercession
You can be a prayer warrior from your living room. You don't need to stand in the gap. Lift up your children, your grandchildren, your church, and this nation. Your prayers carry history, humility, and hope. That's fruit.
3. Wisdom and Counsel
You may no longer attend every meeting, but don't hold back your wisdom. Be a sounding board. Speak life into your family. Offer perspective that only a seasoned heart can give.
4. Quiet Service
A text message that says "I'm thinking of you," a smile to someone passing by, a thank-you to a caregiver. These little things-they are seeds. They matter.
5. Worship
When you sing an old hymn softly to yourself or hum while cooking, you invite the presence of God into your space. That's fruit. A life that still worships, even through aches and pains - that's golden fruit.
Let's remember:
God doesn't judge your fruit by how much you do, but by how much love is in what you do.
Galatians 5:22-23 reminds us of the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
These don't retire. They mature.
Let me encourage you today: don't shrink back just because your pace has slowed. The Lord hasn't asked you to run like you did in your 30s. He asks you to abide in Him, and let Him bear fruit through you - right where you are, just as you are.
You are still an answer to someone's prayer. Still part of God's plan. Still writing the legacy of faith.
So lift up your head. There's a purpose in your presence. Power in your prayers. Beauty in your abiding.
You are fruitful in every season - even this one.
LET's PRAY
Thank You Lord for every season of life. We live because Your presence upholds us. Help us to remain grateful no matter the season we're in. Thank You for loving us. We bless You our Father, in Jesus' precious name.
Amen.
I remain your humble host
GABRIELLA OSAMOR
